What This Bill Does
This bill reauthorizes through FY2029 the Residential Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women program, which is administered by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This program awards grants to fund services for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders, including services for treatment, recovery support, and case management.
The bill also specifically allows grant recipients to conduct outreach that is targeted at women disproportionately impacted by maternal substance use disorders.
